When it comes to buying real estate, are you buying a house or a home?
Many times when touring homes with buyers we often hear them talk about resale value. How much will the home go for when it's time to sell?
Thinking this way is not a bad mind set to have but you also have to consider this is where you are going to live for some time. That maybe only a couple years but are you willing to live in a home you may not be in love with just for the sake of resale value?
If you are an investor and buying a home for a rental this is also on the mind when buying St. George real estate. But if you are a first time home buyer consider what you really want to live in rather then what it will sell for down the road.
You never know what life may bring you and often you can end up in a home longer than expected. Remember, if you love the home, chances are someone else will to. If you are debating between a larger home with more amenities but possibly more remodel work up front verses a home that's move-in ready yet not quite the house you dreamed of, take the time and find the house you love and slowly work at making it the perfect residence.
Even if you plan on only staying in the home 2 years, a lot can be done to make the home more move-in ready for the next buyer when it comes time to sell. There are only a few extenuating details that make homes difficult to sell such as location and layout. Although these can't be changed you probably are attracted to a home without these issues but other cosmetic details that are easy to upgrade, remodel or change. Consider what you can do instead of what the home doesn't offer.
We love working with our buyers to find, not only, a home they love but one they can work with in the future, either by reselling or remodeling. Let us show you how perfect we can make your home buying experience.
